Endoprosthetic replacement of the hip joint has a significant influence on the biomechanics of the pelvic-leg region as well as on the spinal column and - ultimately - on the overall structure of the human body.
As a result, pre-operative planning with detailed reconstruction of the natural rotation center of the hips, precise prediction of the prosthesis size and position, the leg length, and detection of any intraoperative peculiarities is essential for these types of operations.
This is the only way to ensure that expectations for an artifical hip joint in terms of mobility, stability, and high wear resistance will be fulfilled.
